Following are the system requirements for installing and running this release of StarTeam Datamart.

Note: For database system requirements, refer to the database vendor guidelines.
It is necessary to download and install the native JDBC drivers for MS or Oracle databases on the computer that hosts the StarTeam Datamart Extractor. The native drivers provide greater performance than other redistributable drivers and include support for double-byte characters. You can download these drivers for free at the web site for the appropriate vendor:

NOTE: The StarTeam Datamart Extractor benefits from hardware that provides faster data write speeds such as high RPM hard drives.
This section explains how to install StarTeam Datamart Extractor and StarTeam Datamart Synchronizer. StarTeam Datamart Extractor is typically installed on a dedicated machine, not the same machine where StarTeam server is installed, or where the extracted database is.
Note: Datamart Extractor and Synchronizer are only supported on Windows.
StarTeam Datamart is installed in the specified folder, and the StarTeam_Datamart_Extractor_InstallLog.log file in that folder documents all of the events that occurred during the installation process.
Note: The Microsoft SQL Server Driver for JDBC is available for download at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads. Download the JDBC Driver for Oracle at http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/index.html.
The following are known issues in StarTeam Datamart.
The following 1.6.0_29 JRE bug was found that can cause Datamart to hang when used with SQL Server 2008 and 2008R2.
To workaround this bug until a fixed JRE build is provided in a patch, please use the following instructions:
StarTeam Datamart uses InstallAnywhere for installation. If you encounter one of the following error messages when uninstalling this product from a Windows system:
"Can't launch executable. Could not find a suitable Java Virtual Machine on your system."
"Windows error 3 occurred while loading the Java VM."
you may need to install JRE 1.6.0_13 or earlier from http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp. A copy of it is also on the StarTeam CD in the Utility folder.
