Once you have set up your database and become comfortable with Issue Manager, consider using these optional features:
The email notification feature allows Issue Manager users to have email sent to them whenever certain events occur to an issue (e.g., reassignment or a state change). As a user with the Email Notification Rules and Systemwide Triggers security privilege, you can define additional circumstances under which email is sent. Consult your users about the circumstances under which they would like to receive email.
To have email sent about a change in a given issue, users must apply a rule and other information to the issue they’re interested in. The rule and information together are known as an email notification trigger. As a privileged user, you can apply triggers systemwide—to all issues in the database.
For more information and examples, see “Setting Up Email Notification Rules”.
Archiving issues
The greater the number of issues in the database, the longer actions (e.g., queries) may take to execute. To help you improve overall performance, Issue Manager allows you to archive issues that are no longer relevant to your organization’s efforts. Archiving issues in effect segregates them in the database so that you can, for example, run queries against only the active issues. For more information, see “Archiving Issues”.
