Initializing Database Configuration

Once a project has been created, its database connection must be initialized before it can be used as an Issue Manager project.

Note Uninitialized projects appear with red ‘x’ symbols on them in the Projects view.

Procedure To initialize a new Issue Manager project:

1    After you have created a new project (as explained in the SilkCentral Administration Guide), select the Projects unit to view the list of projects you have access to.

Note If you will be importing issue data from Issue Manager 3.x, you must perform the import before performing the initialization process.

2    Click the project’s Initialize repository connection for project icon in the Actions column.

3    Click OK on the Init Repository dialog to begin the initialization.

4    (optional) If you wish to have sample data created for the database you are initializing, select the Create sample data checkbox on the Init Repository dialog. See the following section for more information.

5    A dialog states that the repository initialization has been performed and that you have the option of launching the Configuration Wizard for the repository. Click Yes to proceed with project configuration, as explained in the SilkCentral Administration Guide. Or click No if you plan to configure your project at a later time.
