From Issue Manager’s Configuration unit you can define the inbox settings for specific products. At Configuration/Products you will see a listing of all products that have been assigned to issues in the active Issue Manager project. These settings indicate to which inbox an issue that is assigned a given product will be routed, by group.
The following settings can be viewed for each product in tabular view:
- Name
- Status (active or inactive)
- QA-Inbox (the inbox that has been defined for Quality Assurance)
- Dev-Inbox (the inbox that has been defined for Development)
- Enh-Inbox (the inbox that has been defined for requested enhancements)
- Doc-Inbox (the inbox that has been defined for Documentation)
- Created On (when the product was created)
- Created By (user who created the product)
- Actions (delete icon)
Procedure To define inbox settings for a product:
1 Go to Configuration/Products.
2 Click the Define Product Settings button to open the Product Settings dialog.
Note By clicking the name of a product that has already been assigned to an issue in the project (Products page), you can bypass Step 3 below.
3 From the Product drop-down list, select the product for which you want to define inbox settings. This list includes all products that have been defined via the SilkCentral Administration module.
4 From the QA-Inbox drop-down list, select the predefined inbox to which an issue assigned to QA and defined with the given product should be routed.
5 From the Dev-Inbox drop-down list, select the predefined inbox to which an issue assigned to Development and defined with the given product should be routed.
6 From the Enh-Inbox drop-down list, select the predefined inbox to which an enhancement-request issue and defined with the given product should be routed.
7 From the Doc-Inbox drop-down list, select the predefined inbox to which an issue assigned to Documentation and defined with the given product should be routed.
8 Click OK to save your changes.
Deleting a product
Deleting a product in Issue Manager doesn’t actually delete the product from the repository, but rather detaches the product from the selected project, so that the product is no longer accessible from Issue Manager. Deleting products from the repository is done in SilkCentral’s Administration module (see the SilkCentral Administration Guide).
Note A product can only be deleted as long as no issues have been entered for that specific product.
Procedure To delete a product from the active project:
1 Go to Configuration/Products.
2 Click the Delete icon (in the Actions column) of the product you wish to delete.
3 Click Yes on the confirmation dialog to complete the deletion.
