Adding and Editing Routing Rules

Procedure To add and maintain routing rules:

1    Go to Configuration/Routing Rules.

2    From the Product drop-down list, select the product for which you want to configure a routing rule.

3    Based on the task you wish to perform, proceed as outlined below:

Add a rule

Click the New Routing Rule button.

Proceed as explained in “To modify the values in the New Routing Rule dialog:”

Edit an existing rule

Click the Edit Routing Rule icon (in the Actions column) of the rule you want to modify.

Proceed as explained in “To modify the values in the New Routing Rule dialog:”.

Delete an existing rule

Click on the Delete icon (in the Actions column) of the rule you want to delete. Click Yes on the confirmation dialog to complete the deletion.

Reorder the rules

Click the Move Up or Move Down icon (in the Actions column) of any rule you want to move up or down in the list.

Procedure To modify the values in the New Routing Rule dialog:

1    Select the corresponding radio button to define if the issue is a BUG or ENHANCEMENT (SOFT) or if the issue is a DOC-ISSUE (DOC).

2    Select a pre-defined release (i.e., Existing Matchcode) from the Release drop-down list. Or type in a pre-defined release (i.e., Specific Matchcode) in the right-hand text field. Select nothing (dotted line) if any release should be considered.

3    Select a pre-defined platform (i.e., Existing Matchcode) from the Platform drop-down list. Or type in a pre-defined platform (i.e., Specific Matchcode) in the right-hand text field. Select nothing (dotted line) if any release should be considered.

4    Select a pre-defined component (i.e., Existing Matchcode) from the Component drop-down list. Or type in a pre-defined component (i.e., Specific Matchcode) in the right-hand text field. Select nothing (dotted line) if any release should be considered.

Note You must select a value for at least one of either Release, Platform, or Components. Otherwise, the new routing rule would follow the same rules as the default rule.

5    In the Then route to these inboxes portion of the dialog, select a pre-defined inbox for each of the following four inbox categories: QA Inbox, Development Inbox, Enhancement Inbox, and Documentation Inbox.

6    Click OK to save the rule and enter it into the routing table.

 

Note If you have made changes to the routing table, Issue Manager saves and reconfigures the routing rules, which may take some time.
