This book describes the base COBOL language supported by this system: this COBOL language is based on the ANSI COBOL standards X3.23-1985, X3.23a-1989 and X3.23b-1993, and is supported by a number of COBOL systems. In addition, support has been added for some of the features from ISO/IEC 1989:2002, Programming language COBOL.
