Micro Focus Forum
Welcome to the new Micro Focus Forum. This is the new product oriented threaded message facility for the Micro Focus user community. Note that there are differences between the Forum and the previous threaded message function.
The main differences are:
- The Forum is user supported. It is not a function of Micro Focus SupportLine. However, SupportLine, like the rest of Micro Focus, are also part of the Micro Focus user community, so we will still be involved in the Forum to contribute to the discussions. However, since it is not a function of SupportLine, any issue where you need to have specific Micro Focus SupportLine input should be reported to SupportLine through our "Report an Incident" web page, by contacting your local support center by phone, or by contacting SupportLine via E-Mail. To find the appropriate phone number or e-mail address for your area of the world, please select the Contact SupportLine link on the SupportLine page (http://www.microfocus.com/supportline).
- The Forum is made up of two components - The new active Forum board and the old product specific boards from our previous service. The message contents of the old product specific boards are available in Read-Only format as a reference service. There is a lot of good information in the previous messages that we wanted to keep. The new Forum is a single board that has one conference for each of our products. So, you will now only have one area of the product to post your messages and you will be able to search across all of the products for messages related to your issue. This should simplify the use of this service and allow you to more easily find those messages that will be of interest to you.
- The Forum is now physically located on the COBOL Portal, rather than on the microfocus.com site, although we will continue to have a link to it on the SupportLine page. As this implies, the Forum is no longer restricted to those Micro Focus customers who have maintenance contracts covering their products. Therefore, the full Micro Focus user base will be able to participate in the Forum discussions.
- The Forum has both mail list capabilities and Newsgroup capabilities, so you will have the option of accessing it like a mail list (where you will receive messages for the product areas you are interested in when new messages are posted) or you can access it like a normal Newsgroup, rather than coming in through our web site. So, this will expand the ways in which you can interact with the Forum.
Note that Answer Exchange has now become part of the expanded Micro Focus Forum.
