The Micro Focus
Forum boards are a way for the Micro Focus community to communicate with each
other, sharing information, and learning from other users’ experiences.
This can be accessed
from the Micro Focus Forum option under the Self-Service menu
on the left hand navigation bar. It
can also be accessed directly from the COBOLPortal web site
(www.COBOLPortal.com), by selecting the Discussion Forum link on the
top menu bar.
Some important
things to note about the Micro Focus Forum Boards:
1.The Forum is
user supported
It is not a function
of Micro Focus SupportLine.
SupportLine, like
the rest of Micro Focus, are also part of the Micro Focus user community, so
we will still be involved in the Forum to contribute to the discussions.
Since it is not a function of SupportLine, any issue where you need to have
specific Micro Focus SupportLine input should be reported directly to
SupportLine through the Report an Incident option, or by contacting
your local SupportLine office. To find
the appropriate SupportLine contact information for your area of the world,
please select the Contact SupportLine link on the SupportLine page.
2.The Forum is physically located on the COBOL Portal,
rather than on the www.microfocus.com site
The Forum is hosted
on the COBOL Portal web site to make it part of the full COBOL community,
rather than the Micro Focus web site. The full COBOL user base is able to
participate in the Forum discussions.
3.The Forum has both mail list capabilities and Newsgroup
capabilities
You have the option
of accessing it like a mail list (where you will receive messages for the
product areas you are interested in when new messages are posted) or you can
access it like a normal Newsgroup, rather than coming in through the web
site. This expands the ways in which you can interact with the Forum.
